Virginia Ignatowski has served as Chili’s Town Clerk, Tax Receiver, and Records Management Officer since 2012. Over the years, she has earned multiple professional certifications and held leadership roles within municipal and tax-receiving organizations across New York State. She currently serves as President of the NYS Association of Tax Receivers and Collectors and has also been recognized for her work in local government records management.

Virginia’s commitment to the Town of Chili began long before her current position. She served as a Town Councilwoman from 2003 to 2011 and began volunteering with the town in 1994. Throughout the years, she has contributed to several committees, including the South Chili Re-Zoning Committee, the Master Plan Update Committee, and the Chili Drainage Committee, where she served as chairperson for two years.

Before entering local government, Virginia worked as a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst for organizations including Excellus BC/BS, Xerox, and Rochester Community Savings Bank. She later worked in the Tax Department at Wilmorite, Inc., before dedicating time to raising her three children.

​

Outside of her professional and community work, Virginia is an active member of the St. Pius X parish and has played violin with its music ministry since 1988. She also performs with the Fiddlers of the Genesee and the bluegrass group “Ginny and the Gents.”

A longtime South Chili resident, Virginia has lived in the community with her husband since 1987. Together, they have three adult children.
