about Bruce
Bruce Blakeman is a lifelong New Yorker, a father, husband, and public servant who knows how to lead, and WIN.
As Nassau County Executive, he was re-elected in 2025 by 12 points in a Democrat-leaning county by doing what Albany won’t: keeping communities safe, cutting taxes, and putting common sense first.
He fought sanctuary policies, rejected mask mandates, stopped boys from playing in girls sports, and made Nassau the safest County in America while hiring hundreds of new police officers.
A 9/11 Port Authority Commissioner and two-term County Executive, Bruce has led through crisis and delivered results. He’s built the blueprint to beat Kathy Hochul, and he’s ready to put New York First.
Blakeman has proposed a major state income tax cut as a centerpiece of his campaign against Governor Kathy Hochul.
Tax Proposals

-
Income Tax Elimination: Blakeman has proposed eliminating state income taxes on the first $50,000 earned for single filers and the first $100,000 earned by joint (married) filers.
-
He stated that anyone making over $100,000 would also pay zero state income tax on their first $100,000 of income. The campaign estimates this would save joint filers making $100,000 about $4,000 per year, and those earning up to $250,000 about $7,000 annually.
-
Blakeman proposes paying for the tax cuts by restructuring state spending and rerouting funds currently earmarked for assisting immigrants and refugees.
Blakeman has also proposed changes in Public Safety and Immigration Policy in New York

-
Blakeman has pledged to end New York's sanctuary state status on "day one" of his governorship and work closely with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
-
He highlights his record of expanding law enforcement support, contrasting his positions with current state policies. He highlights his choice of Sheriff Todd Hood as evidence of his resolve to prioritize public safety.
