Voting: where and when

If you plan to vote in the general election (and I pray everyone here who’s eligible will do so and encourage people they know to do so as well), you must be registered to vote no later than October 24th. If you have moved since the last time you voted, you must re-register.

If you plan to vote early, know that early voting dates statewide are October 24th through November 1st. See the offical list of early voting places in Monroe County at https://www.monroecounty.gov/elections-earlyvoting. You can go to any of the early voting locations -- they will print a custom ballot that matches the local races where you live in the county.

If you plan to vote on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd), polls are open statewide from 6am to 9pm. You can look up the polling place for your home (registration) address at https://www.monroecounty.gov/elections-voter. You can find sample ballots for your specific home address at that same page.

For friends and relatives: every county Board of Election has a website. Some are better than others, but they all have one. It’s your go-to spot for everything from registering to vote, to polling place locations, dates, and hours, and a sample ballot specific to your address—that sample ballot enables everyone to do their due diligence re: what’s on the ballot before they ever enter the polling place. No excuses.

Please share this information with everyone you know. We MUST get out the vote. The future is decided by those who show up.

And please be nice to those election workers —it’s a long day for them, oftentimes from 5am to 10pm!
